In conversation with Dr. Dhaneesha on building a holistic, AI-driven approach to preventive healthcare

In today’s fast-evolving healthcare landscape, the shift from reactive treatment to preventive care is becoming increasingly important. In this conversation, we speak with Dr. Dhaneesha, founder of TheBabyLand, a digital health platform designed to deliver holistic, personalized, and continuous healthcare for women and children.

What makes TheBabyLand stand out is not just its use of AI or its integrated care model but the deeply personal journey that led to its creation. From navigating a cancer diagnosis to identifying systemic gaps in healthcare delivery, Dr. Dhaneesha is building a platform that aims to transform how health is managed across life stages.

Key Takeways

Founder Background & Problem Identification

Interviewer:

What inspired you to build BabyLand, and what healthcare problem are you solving?

Dr. Dhaneesha:

TheBabyLand started from a very personal experience. I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer unexpectedly, right after COVID and shortly after getting married. It was overwhelming not just physically, but emotionally and mentally as well.

What I experienced during that time was how fragmented the healthcare system is. I had to consult multiple doctors, visit several hospitals like Apollo and AIG, manage lab reports manually, and even seek second opinions internationally. Every doctor had a different perspective, and there was no unified system to bring everything together.

Thankfully, thyroid cancer is one of the least invasive cancers, and I recovered. But it made me think, if this experience was overwhelming for me, what must people with more severe conditions go through?

At the same time, I started noticing a larger pattern. Many health issues today are linked to lifestyle disorders: what we eat, the chemicals in everyday products, and even something as basic as toothpaste. Everything is increasingly chemical-based and adulterated.

Another key gap I observed was that most treatments focus on symptoms rather than root causes. For example, patients with hormonal issues, acne, bloating, or PCOS are often given pills or steroid-based treatments that address only immediate symptoms.

That’s when I realized the need for:

BabyLand was built to address exactly these gaps.
